Event Report
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association UK hosted the annual national pre-Charity Walk for Peace Reception dinner on Friday 30th July 2021 in the Tahir Hall, Baitul Futuh Mosque Complex, Morden, Surrey. The event was cohosted by the Mayor of Merton.
The National Reception is the foundation event for the various Charity Walk for Peace programmes throughout the year including regional receptions; charity walks; Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal campaign; and the cheque distribution ceremony at the end of the year. The national walks are scheduled in multiple locations across the UK on Sunday 19th September 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID situation the attendance was limited to the number of guests attending however the social media platforms were used to create the awareness.
We recently started a self-managed allotment project, in Pollards Hill Ward, Mitcham CR4 1NU. It’s call Hadley Road Community Allotment. We do not receive any funding from the Local Authority. Our aim is to accommodate the wider communities and school. We have qualify gardeners who will run courses on gardening, propagation, composting etc.
We do not have toilet or a restroom facility. We are at present fundraising for those facilities, also to improve the allotment site with good security. Please advise us how we can benefit from your charity.
The total cost for a Sewer Toilet and a restroom with tables and benches cost £10.000. Through fundraising we achieved £1700.00 already. your reply will be appreciated.
