About Us
Beacon of Peace was founded to serve humanity without regard to colour, creed, nationality, or race. Our mission is to alleviate suffering, assist those in need, foster community cohesion, support humanitarian initiatives, bring people together, enhance understanding, and promote peace among people from all walks of life.
Beacon of Peace is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, part of the UK’s oldest established Muslim community. Originally known as Charity Walk For Peace (CWFP), the name and branding were updated in 2024 to Beacon of Peace (BoP) to reflect the expanded scope of fundraising events beyond charity walks and to illustrate a broader horizon of reach and global humanitarian projects.
Since its inception in 1985, the charity walk has been held at various venues across the UK, attracting thousands of participants annually. Millions of pounds have been raised and distributed to over 600 UK registered charities and used to support humanitarian projects. Numerous regional charity receptions, walks, and events are organized throughout the UK, culminating in an annual event designed to benefit various charities that provide practical help and support to vulnerable people.
Our goals are to assist society, support charitable endeavours, and demonstrate loyalty to our country and nation. A distinctive feature of Beacon of Peace is that all organizers are unpaid volunteers, ensuring that no administrative costs are deducted from donations. All operational costs are covered by membership subscriptions
The Beacon of Peace was founded in the service of humanity, rooted in the call of duty and substantiated by our mission actuated not by consideration of reciprocity or reputation but rather our desire to win the pleasure of God through service to his creation. Our aim is to relieve the suffering of the poor, to promote peace, understanding and good will amongst people of all walks of life.

We want to help society and to support charitable endeavours and demonstrate loyalty to country and nation. The distinctive feature of the Beacon of Peace is that all organisers are unpaid volunteers and no administrative costs. All operational costs are met by membership subscriptions.
Since its inception in 1985 the walk has been held at different venues across the UK with thousands participating each year. To date, over £10.2 million has been distributed to over 600 UK registered charities. A number of regional charity receptions and walks are organised throughout the UK culminating with the annual event organised to benefit various charities that provide practical help and support to vulnerable people.
The Beacon of Peace (“BoP”) was previously Charity Walk For Peace (“CWFP”). The name and logo was changed in 2024 to reflect the wide range of fundraising events (beyond the charity walk event) the charity organises, and to reflect the ambition to widen this further still, in order to maximise the funds raised and reach of the charity.
