Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association Islamabad have teamed up with East Hampshire District Council to organise its very own Charity Walk for Peace on 9^th of September 2017 in Bentley Village.

The walk will be 4 miles from Bentley Station through Ship Wrights way to Alice Holt Forest Centre and then back to Bentley Station.

On 20^th July Councillors Laetitia Pienaar and Councillor Julie Butler from East Hampshire District Council and Committee members for the regional committee of the CWFP, invited Dr Rizwan Ullah Khan (Regional AMEA Coordinator), Luqman Choudhry (Deputy Regional AMEA Coordinator) and Rafi Ahmad Bhatti (Vice Chairman CWFP) to promote the walk in their full court session.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Rafi Ahmad highlighted the achievements of the Charity Walk for Peace to date. Videos were shown of the walks held and included a piece from the Honourable Mayor of Newham who praised the efforts of AMEA UK for helping less privileged members of society.

At the end of the session honourable councillors were encouraged to share their thoughts and ask questions about the region walk.

Ex Leader of EHDC Honourable Cllr Ferrous Cowper admiring the efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association said that he has a long standing relation with AMA UK and mentioned that every single member of the organisation shines like a star wherever he is.

He also mentioned “Love for All Hatred for None is need of the time” and assured his full support towards regional charity walk.

Cllr Julie Butler, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Customer Relations, said:

“In East Hampshire, we are lucky to live in such tight-knit and tolerant communities. But it is no longer just enough to live that way – we must also demonstrate to the world that these are our values so that others may follow our lead. That’s why the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association Charity Walk for Peace is so important and why we are happy to support it.”
